Starting January 31st, imported non-controlled goods, such as fashion and technology, must go through customs. From there, businesses will experience the added expense caused by a Value-Added Tax on imported goods. Customs declarations and the fees paid are compulsory in order for the items to enter the UK.

By July 2021, all items imported into the UK must meet full custom requirements. They must receive and submit a safety and security declaration. Finally, they must pass all customs compliance checks.
